I plan to use it in several photos — randomly — but especially if I ever make it out to an abandoned prison farm not too far from here.

Someone said I should eat green things…

CHOMP! STOMP!

Come join Scurvy Dog Photography (me!) and SuperCute! (Lori, Liz and Becky) at the Chomp and Stomp in Cabbagetown tomorrow. Besides visiting us (and perhaps purchasing some early Christmas presents??) there will of course be BEER! and CHILI! I mean really — it’s the perfect fall occasion.

It’s held in the wonderful Cabbagetown park which is at the corner of Tye Street and Kirkwood Ave. Here is a llink to Google maps if you want to plot a route. AND if you need more data — check out chomapandstomp.com

Smokey Mountain sunset

There were forest rangers all around — directing traffic, people and reminding us to be careful — etc.

There were about 8 bears in the the area — I saw at least 5 distint individual bears — these pictures are the three that were around the most.

I have a borrowed 70-200mm f2.8 IS lens that I used to take this — i think the results are pretty good.

Pumpkins!

So far I’m in love with the new camera. The bigger screen, the shutter sound, the better ISO adjustibility all make the 40D a huge improvement over the Rebel. Don’t get me wrong — I loved the Rebel and wish it would have lasted a little longer — but I don’t regret buying the 40D one bit.

I’m still getting used to the live view mode — it’s interesting, and would probably work better if hooked up to a bigger screen — although the new LCD is pretty gigantic.
